Just a bit about me…
I was born and raised in Calgary and I love “the west”. Growing up, I didn’t exactly want to be a teacher, but in 1988, that is what I was. I enjoyed teaching elementary school right from the beginning. I taught about every grade K-7, but right about 1993, decided to take M.Ed. courses and become a reading specialist. In 2000, after 12 years of teaching in the USA, I moved back to Calgary and here I am! While with the Calgary Board of Education, I have been a reading specialist, classroom teacher, learning leader, assistant principal and now a principal. I have loved each and every role because they all come with a new set of challenges.
Today my thoughts at school are primarily focussed on Leadership and School Improvement… In the picture below, I took the staff Wall Climbing on one of our Professional Days… not one person was bored or texting!
Besides my job job, I enjoy each and every day being a wife and a mom. My life is filled with treasures and rewards too big to express. As of late, I believe that life in its simplest is a series of choices. Best part is, if you don’t like the choice you made, you get to make a new choice you may like more. I try to apply this belief wherever I go, it works for me!
